We have created a helpful guide for writing the research paper called "Writing a Research Paper in 15 Easy Steps." To view and download a copy, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer. You can download a copy of Adobe Acrobat for free from Adobe.com.

The first step in writing a research paper is to decide on a topic. If you need ideas, talk to other people, take some time to look for articles on the EBSCO online database (see "Databases" link on left frame), browse for books to see if there is enough information out there on your topic. If you find a scarcity of information on your topic, you may want to change your topic in favor of one with more information sources available.

If you need help narrowing your topic, try taking a "Library Tutorial" (see link on the left) to help you with your research task.
